2018年Las Vegasの旅 Grand Circle決定編 [旅]
2018年Las Vegasの旅。
今回のGrand Circleは、1日20人しか立ち入りが許可されないアメリカ一番の秘境といわれる、The Waveの抽選に応募した。
5月27日の申し込み時の抽選倍率は87倍～100.4倍とかなり狭き門。
締め切り時の5月31日にはもっと抽選倍率が上がっていただろう。
さて仕事を終えて帰宅すると何やら見慣れぬメールが来ていた。
迷惑メールと思い放っておく。
翌朝見てみると、
Congratulations, 〇〇〇〇!
とある。
ん?
何々???
メールをよく読んでみる。
You were selected in our lottery application process for a Coyote Buttes North permit. You have until Noon MDT (GMT-6) Friday June 15, 2018 to provide required additional permit information and payment for your permit. If you miss this date for payment, the date and entries selected for your trip will be released and become publicly available via the calendar application process.

Area: Coyote Buttes North
Date for hike: Tuesday September 11, 2018 Number in group: 1
Please finish the permitting process by Noon MDT (GMT-6) Friday June 15, 2018. You can finish the permitting process by clicking the link below:
なんと1回目の挑戦で当選してしまった!!!
当選日はLas Vegas入りして4日目の9月11日（火）になる。
許可手続きの期限もあるので早速手続きを進める。
メールのリンクから進むと、トレイルへの入退場場所、犬と一緒なら犬の頭数（有料）、許可証の送付先、緊急連絡先、車のナンバーなどを記入する。
トレイルへの入退場場所はWire Pass、レンタカーのナンバーは分からないのでCar rentalとした。
確認して進む。
この後クレジットカード情報を記入して完了。
$7.00がチャージされる。
WEB上で許可の確認ができるようになった。
その後すぐに確認メールが到着。

これでGrand Circleの旅が確定した。
The Waveへは未舗装の悪路を1時間ほど走ったパーキングからトレイルを2時間ほど歩いて向かうそうで、途中に行先案内の道標はほとんどなく、毎年何人も遭難者が出ているとの情報。
色々調べて万全の態勢で臨みたいと思う。
とりあえず当選出来てラッキーだった。
